This was our second day in Paris. The Parisian lifestyle is certainly different from any Canadian city; it smells weirder, the traffic is worse and there are pigeons everywhere! Today's "plat du jour" so to speak was Notre Dame and The Eiffel Tower with a side of stolen property! On our way to Notre Dame, Emma had mom's phone conspicuously hanging out of her pocket which some young people took advantage of! The phone is gone.
Notre Dame was beautiful but busy, personally I thought it would be much more awe inspiring than it actually was, but our audio-guide provided some interesting detail.
We also went up to the second level of the Eiffel Tower. We got to the front of the line due to my wheelchair and it was cheaper for a companion and me! Accessible washrooms were very difficult to find on Ile de la Cité! The McDonalds close by had one but you need to take the elevator down to the lower floor.
One further note - Paris is hot in July and I mean hot!
Sacre Blue!! Someone stole your mom's phone! Scoundrels. Glad you made it up the ET -- I didn't get time to do that. Is it muggy in Paris or just dry and hot? Great photo :)
ReplyDeleteYes it's muggy. The ET is really cool! We made it to the second level :)
DeleteOops - not sure why my Google profile didn't show up -- it's your cousin Nicole in LA commenting. ;)
DeleteHope today's rain didn't slow you down!
ReplyDeleteWe were lucky because it rained just before we woke up :)
DeleteDésolé d'entendre que le téléphone de votre maman a été volé.
ReplyDeleteVous avez été déçus parce que vous n'avez pas vu le Bossu de Notre-Dame.
Il fait chaud ici aussi Kate.
Tell us about some of your favorite foods. I see that you tried the violet ice cream! We also love the myrtle, strawberry, and hazelnut yogurts. Have mom and dad tried any rose?
ReplyDeleteSome favourite french foods of mine have been the macarons, croque provençal that I had at a restaurante in Paris, and brioche bread. I accidentally pressed comment instead of reply for my earlier response so be sure to scroll and see it! :)
DeleteYes they tried the rose today! And we had 3 different types of the yogurt in glass bottles. Chestnut, cherry, and strawberry-lime! All delicious except for the chestnut!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! Those yogurts in the glass bottles are awesome. Myrtle? I love trying new foods when we travel. I like some things more than others but it is so fun to try. Some of my best travel memories are memories of something we've tasted or cooked. Look forward to more details!
