Food and Frivolity

Yesterday, we went to a festival in the town of Chédigny. It was billed as a festival of mouth and ear, with regional food and entertainment. When we got there the entertainment was just about to get in gear. It was unique, in that it was sort of a comedy sketch which I think was mostly in Italian. The show was about these two Romeo and Juliette birds which eventually died.  It was odd and hard to follow because it was in different languages. After the show, we went to try some of the traditional foods of the region; which included pigs ears, intestine sausage, blood sausage, grass soup, duck gelitan, pork cooked in its blood, goat chops, and pâté de tete (if you don't know French, you don't want to know what that is). I boldly tried all and most of them II was okay with.  After sampling the savory choices, we went for the sweets (obviously). There was cheese with fruit sauce, prunes with pits, macaron, baked custard, and crepes. As of now, we are on our way to our home for the next week. I just wish we'd get there sooner!
